Manitoba Accessibility Fund
The Manitoba Accessibility Fund (MAF) provides one-time grants to help Manitoba organizations and businesses remove barriers, create awareness and support compliance with The Accessibility for Manitobans Act (AMA) and its standards.
The 2023/24 year targets the following three accessibility standards:
Applications must support The Accessibility for Manitobans Act and the standards listed above by addressing at least one of three MAF objectives.

The MAF intake for 2023-24 will be open from Monday January 30, 2023 to Friday, March 10, 2023.

MAF will fund proposed projects up to a maximum of $50,000, including up to 10 per cent for administration.
Funding that is approved for grant recipients may be less than the amount requested. Applicants are encouraged to seek additional funding from other sources.
Applicants can submit only one application per intake, but can be listed as partners in multiple projects.

Arts, Culture and Sport in Community - Community Celebrations
The Arts, Culture and Sport in Community, Community Celebrations Program will support community events and celebrations that bring Manitobans together to celebrate their unique culture, heritage, and/or community.
Non-profit organizations in operation for at least one year prior to application, school parent council groups, municipalities (including local authorities such as planning districts), First Nations, Métis locals and Northern Affairs Community Councils are eligible to apply.
A non-profit organization is defined as one whose activities are carried out with no financial gain to any of its members. To be eligible, non-profit organizations must be able to provide evidence, on request, that the organization is active and in good standing.
Application Deadline: June 15, 2023 - for projects occurring between August 1, 2023 and June 1, 2024
** Due to the volume of applications already received, it is anticipated that June 15, 2023 will be the final intake for the Community Celebrations Program.
Events may be a one-time or recurring event, festival or celebration that creates opportunities for Manitobans to celebrate their unique heritage, culture or community; must be located in Manitoba and targeted to Manitobans; must be not-for-profit; and should promote cultural exchange and be rooted in inclusion and belonging.
Ineligible projects include those with limited or restricted public access, projects related to religious activities or programs, and projects receiving funding through the Building Sustainable Communities program in the same fiscal year.
ACSC will provide a provincial contribution of up to 100% of eligible project costs to a maximum of $5,000.
Ineligible project costs include event prizes; alcohol or gambling permits; Creation, production or distribution of souvenirs or items for resale; and capital-related expenses
Note: Expenses incurred before the application is received are ineligible. If you incur expenses for your project after applying but before receiving written confirmation of your funding approval, you will be doing so at your own risk.

ACSC will not support projects receiving funding from the Building Sustainable Communities grant program for the same fiscal year.
ACSC Large Capital projects will contribute up to 50% of eligible costs to a maximum of $5 million per project. Total provincial funding from all sources cannot exceed 50% of eligible project costs.

Eligible facilities for capital projects are located within Manitoba, open to the general public, used for arts, culture or sports programming and/or activity and are owned by an eligible applicant; or leased by an eligible applicant (for a period extending five years past project completion).
Eligible projects may include: capital projects that support the development and renewal of facilities and spaces needed for arts,culture and sport sector programming and activity; the acquisition of specialized equipment needed for arts, culture and sport sector programming and activity; planning, feasibility and facility assessment projects intended to lead to capital work; and the design and production of major permanent interpretive installations including exhibitions or outdoor interpretive signage.
Eligible Special Initiatives must be located within Manitoba, be available to the general public and advance arts, culture and sports programming and activity.
Eligible projects include: planning, training or other activities that support the development of leadership and organizational capacity; new arts, culture or sport initiatives or programs; pilot projects; special initiatives designed to expand or enhance existing services or programming; the acquisition of moveable equipment, furniture and technology; and planning, feasibility and facility assessment projects.

Conservation & Climate Fund
The Conservation and Climate Fund provides support to projects occurring in Manitoba that incorporate actions to address and adapt to a changing climate and protect the environment in alignment with the priorities and implementation of the Climate and Green Plan.
Projects will deliver on one or more of the following:
The Fund supports time-bound projects and does not provide on-going operating or maintenance support to an organization. Projects must be completed in Manitoba.
As an initiative of the Manitoba Climate and Green Plan, the Fund supports a green and climate resilient province.
Eligible applicants include:
Organizations must be active and have established operations within Manitoba for at least one year before applying. Business must be registered with the Province of Manitoba.
Ineligible applicants include Individuals, Crown Corporations, Federal Government, Provincial Governments, and Watershed Districts.
The maximum grant per applicant, as determined by the Fund, over the Government of Manitoba’s fiscal year (ending March 31) is: $150,000.
The maximum level--or stacking limit--of total government assistance (federal, provincial and municipal assistance for the same eligible costs) will not exceed 100 per cent of eligible costs. In the event that total government assistance to a recipient exceeds the stacking limit, the Conservation and Climate Fund will adjust the level of funding so that the stacking limit is not exceeded and there is no duplication of funding.
Applications are not required to match project funding with funds from other eligible sources. However, eligible matching funds can contribute positively to the application assessment as outlined under the Application Assessment section (i.e. Organization Capacity and Funding).
The 2023 annual application intake of the Conservation and Climate Fund will close at 3:00 pm CDT on May 23th, 2023.

Ethnocultural Community Support Program
The Ethnocultural Community Support grant helps community organizations preserve, enhance, promote and share Manitoba’s rich and diverse cultural history and encourage the development of partnerships between cultural communities to foster inter-cultural understanding, harmony and equality.
Eligible applicants include not-for-profit, community-based, ethnocultural organizations (or organizations that partner with the ethnocultural community), incorporated under provincial or federal law, with membership that is open to the public.
The application deadlines are April 30 and October 31.
Initiatives must support the values of multiculturalism, inter-faith inclusion, anti-racism and youth engagement.

Heritage Grants Program
The Heritage Grants Program helps Manitobans identify, protect and interpret Manitoba’s human and natural heritage.
Any incorporated non-profit or charitable community organization, local government, university or First Nation may apply. Individuals or unincorporated groups may also apply under the endorsement of an eligible organization. Organizations must have been in existence for at least one year before applying or before endorsing another applicant.
Deadlines for applications are January 31 and June 1 of each year.
Eligible projects include Collections Management, Conservation, Exhibitions, and programs (of a non-recurring nature) that seek to identify, protect or interpret Manitoba's human and natural heritage. Eligible projects also include Interpretive Signs, Research and Special Initiatives (innovative heritage projects not included above).
We fund up to 50 per cent of eligible expenses.

Merit-based Low Carbon Economy Fund (LCEF)
The Merit-based program is intended to support building and process improvements that reduce greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions and use of fossil fuels. This program will not fund projects that qualify for or are already supported by Efficiency Manitoba, nor will it fund transportation projects such as zero emission vehicles or charging infrastructure. Grant applications must be approved before January 30, 2024 to be considered for eligibility. Expressions of Interest will be reviewed on an as received basis and those that appear eligible for funding will be requested to complete a more detailed application. Applicants may apply for more than one project using individual Expression of Interest forms.
Applicants are encouraged to apply early to ensure funding availability - once available funding has been distributed, the fund will close.

Urban/Hometown Green Team Program
Green Team grants create summer employment opportunities for youth aged 15 to 29 years. Approved Applicants provide a variety of community development projects that improve neighbourhoods, promote community involvement and help develop young leaders. The employment period is between May 1 and September 30.
Priorities for the 2023 summer season are focused on: community based organizations and municipal governments that can offer full-time employment opportunities for youth; projects that support COVID-19 response and recovery efforts; and projects that can demonstrate community need and partnerships.
