Knox Bellafield Presbyterian Church
SE 3-5-17W,
Ninette area

Designation Date: August 15, 1991
Designation Authority: The R.M. of Riverside
Present Owner: The Trustees of the Presbyterian Congregation of Bellafield
The present wood frame church was built in 1906 on the original church’s stone foundation, incorporating the floor and roof of the earlier building. For many years Knox Bellafield Presbyterian Church was known locally as the Gaelic Church, as services were held in Gaelic as well as in English. Holy Communion services were held once annually, with services often held each day for a week.
The building is a typical example of modest church architecture, distinguished in its function by Gothic pointed windows and, in the front face, by a circular window. Currently, Knox Bellafield Presbyterian Church opens during the summer months with at least one annual service being offered.
