  1. What if I don't want to give out personal information such as date of birth, telephone number, etc.?
You can leave out your date of birth, but you must include your age group, so that we can determine if you meet program criteria. As well, because students are contacted by phone for interviews, you must include your phone number or anoQuestions?ther number where we can reach you.

  2. What is employment equity? Why is it important?
Employment equity is a process designated to address the historical under-representation of certain groups in the work force. It is important because our work force should be representative of the diversity of the population it serves.

  3. What employment opportunities are offered for students who are disabled?
Career related positions are available through CareerOptions for Students with Disabilities. For more information or to find out if you qualify, contact Sandra Lytwyn at (204) 945-1637, toll-free at 1-800-282-8069 ext. 1637, or e-mail at sandra.lytwyn@gov.mb.ca.

If you don't indicate a disability, you won't be considered for CareerOptions positions.

  6. My courses (faculty, college) are not on your list. What should I do?
Select one that closely matches your courses or choose "other".

  7. I have a job (full-time/part-time/casual). Should I indicate that on the form?
No. If you are a student, you don't need to indicate your employment information. However, if you fall into the "youth" category, you do need to include information about your job.

  8. Do I have to quit my job to qualify for a government job?
No. As long as you can realistically work both jobs, it is not a problem.

The one you are presently attending.

  10. I take more courses/have more skills than space is provided for. What do I do?
