
I am a part-time student. How will it affect my chance
of getting a job?
First priority is given to full-time students (taking three
full courses or more).
Are international students eligible for these jobs?
Yes. However, first priority is given to Canadian citizens
and landed immigrants.
I have a work permit (Minister's Permit). Can I apply?
No, you must be a Landed Immigrant.
Can I mail a hard copy of the form?
Yes. You can also drop it off at STEP Services,
310 – 800 Portage Avenue, Winnipeg, MB, R3G 0N4.
Can I apply for a job in any town in Manitoba?
Yes, but priority is given to students from the job locality.
What if I need a job during the school year (fall/winter)?
Can I apply?
Most jobs occur during the summer months. However, there are
part-time jobs available for post-secondary students during
the school year.
When is the deadline for registration?
There is no real deadline but we start calling students as
early as January, so you should register as early as mid-November.
I am not a Manitoba resident. Can I still apply?
Yes, but first priority is given to full-time students from
the job locality.
Do I have to be available all summer to accept a position?
Can I work for one month and go on vacation?
Once hired, a student is expected to complete the work term.
The average term is 12 weeks.
