Company Profile:
An impervious plastic membrane that rests on the surface of the stored waste liquid and is anchored in place by a unique patented system. The anchorage utilizes atmospheric pressure to secure a light membrane tightly on the surface of the liquid and the surrounding ground surface. Patents were granted by both the Canadian and US offices in 2001. To date the technology has been used to eliminate odour and ammonia emissions from manure storages on a variety of livestock farms ranging from small to very large sizes.
As well, the NAP cover conserves nitrogen resulting in manure with an improved nitrogen to phosphorous ratio that more closely matches crop nutrient requirements, reducing potential for phosphorus accumulation in soils. The extra nitrogen retained displaces inorganic nitrogen fertilizer that is normally made from natural gas. An important energy source is therefore conserved. The technology is reliable, affordable, and very effective.
