Conveniently perched along a section road, Erinside School, built in 1914, is typical of the type of building that provided education to so many rural Manitobans. What makes this site of greater significance is the presence of the adjacent building. Known as a teacherage, or teachery, many rural schools provided such living accommodations for their teachers, but few have survived in place—many were moved to serve as homes in other locations. The school and teacherage at Erinside are thus rare and special.
