Geospatial Technology Management
Geospatial Technology Management section is a new business area responsible for the coordination and management of Manitoba’s Spatial Data Infrastructure (SDI) and Geographic Information System (GIS) initiatives identified in Manitoba’s strategic GIS enterprise strategy. Key objectives of this area are to:
- Strengthen Manitoba’s mapping, data management, standards and integration capabilities as a corporate capacity for government overall.
- Encourage and facilitate sharing of geographic and spatially linked business data between departments to improve the quality of decision-making and add value across government.
- Initiate a comprehensive framework for data collection, use and sharing policies between departments and other non government stakeholders.
- Provide GIS technical expertise and support to government’s GIS and SDI users.
