Streamlining of Forest Management Plan Approval Process

The Ministers of Agriculture and Resource Development and Environment, Climate and Parks have signed an agreement in accordance with section 11(2) of The Environment Act providing for a single approval process for forest management plans that meets the requirements of The Environment Act and The Forest Act. The 20-Year Forest Management Plan Guideline (Français), Schedule A of the agreement, was updated to include the requirements of both acts and modernize the approval process. The Department of Agriculture and Resource Development will now lead the streamlined process, with continuing involvement of the Department of Environment, Climate and Parks.
