Profiles of Capital Providers
In order to take advantage of investment opportunities in Manitoba, the Manitoba Investment Working Group (MIWG) was established by The Manitoba Regional Office of Agriculture and Agri-food Canada (AAFC). MIWG believes this document is the first step toward supporting investment in Manitoba which eventually paves the way for opportunities found in the domestic and international markets. The MIWG is seeking other like-minded organizations to join our group and expand the breadth of our investment knowledge. The goal of the MIWG is to work with businesses and stakeholders to raise awareness of the local investment infrastructure and capacity. At its core, Manitoba has solid investment institutions, capacity, and a human resource base with demonstrated potential. What we don’t always know is the types of capital available, the providers of capital, and where to find it. AAFC actively collaborates with industry, provincial governments, associations, and coordinates the preparation of this document with the assistance of Manitoba Entrepreneurship, Training and Trade, Department of Foreign Affairs and International Trade, Manitoba Agricultural Services Corporation, Western Economic Diversification, Manitoba Agriculture, Food and Rural Initiatives and National Research Council.
