The Canadian Science Centre for Human and Animal Health -- located in Winnipeg, is Canada’s only research facility with Level 4 biocontainment capability for the study of both human and animal diseases. Its research is focused on the areas of sexually transmitted diseases, enteric pathogens, bacteriology, special pathogens, and viral oncology. The Centre is the home of Canada’s Public Health Agency
The National Research Council (NRC) Institute for Biodiagnostics (IBD) -- conducts research and develops instrument-based, non-invasive medical diagnostic technologies. The Institute performs its research in partnership with medical schools, universities, other research organizations, and industry.

The Research Centre is also home to the University of Manitoba's Institute of Cardiovascular Sciences, the Division of Neurodegenerative Disorders and the Canadian Centre for Agrifood Research in Medicine, and houses a number of other research programs.
CancerCare Manitoba is the coordinating centre for oncology research in Manitoba. It is responsible cancer prevention, detection, care, research and education for the people of Manitoba. The affiliate Manitoba Institute of Cell Biology performs basic research in areas that include the molecular origins of cancer, the regulation of gene activity, AIDS, control of cell movement, inflammation and wound healing, programmed cell death and the biochemical action of cancer chemotherapeutics.
The Richardson Centre for Functional Foods and Nutraceuticals -- brings together researchers from the agriculture, foods sciences, human nutrition, medicine and pharmacology disciplines, along with their industry partners, to study and develop functional foods and nutraceuticals.
The Canadian Centre for Agri-Food Research in Medicine – Located at the St. Boniface General Hospital Research Centre, CCARM investigates the health-related effects of functional foods and nutraceuticals.

HealthTrials Inc. -- An office within the Department of Research at the Health Sciences Centre in Winnipeg, HealthTrials offers project administration services to researchers and pharmaceutical companies to enhance clinical research conducted at the Health Sciences Centre.
The Manitoba Clinic is one of Canada’s largest private multi-specialty medical clinics, with over 75 physicians on staff in a diverse range of medical programs and health care services. The Manitoba Clinic Research and Clinical Study unit acts as the coordinating centre for numerous advanced (beyond Phase II) pharmaceutical clinical trial programs.
Hill Top Research Inc. is a contract research organization offering a wide range of studies types including clinical research, microbiology, and CRO services for the health care, personal care and oral care industries, with specialized capabilities in dry skin dermatology and SPF testing.
The Office of Clinical Research at St. Boniface General Hospital – in conjunction with the University of Manitoba provides clinical research support services to investigators, local companies, and other agencies requiring research support and consultation. Services that are offered include protocol/proposal development, project management, pre-clinical consultation, regulatory affairs support, research submissions, auditing and other administrative support services.
