With over 6,800 retail establishments throughout Manitoba (employing a total of 66,700 people), the value of Manitoba's retail trade industry in 2010 was approximately $16 billion.  The retail trade industry contributes approximately $2.9 billion (7.3%) to Manitoba's GDP annually.  The principal industry organization is the Retail Council of Canada – Manitoba division.

  • The scheduled opening of IKEA Winnipeg in 2012 will be the first IKEA store in the Canadian province of Manitoba and will be the largest Canadian IKEA store at an estimated 32,516 m².
