Regional staff of Family Services and Labour may offer a one-day training session on the issues of abuse and protection for staff of agencies funded by the Community Living disABILITY Services Program. This workshop is directed at identifying and responding to issues of abuse and neglect in regards to persons' who have been identified as vulnerable under The Vulnerable Persons Living with a Mental Disability Act (VPA).

During this one-day session there will be an opportunity for participants to review the practical applications of the booklet: Protecting Vulnerable Persons from Abuse and Neglect: Reporting Requirements for Direct Service Providers.

This training is provided for staff of agencies funded by the Community Living disABILITY Services Program, Department of Family Services and Labour. Agencies are notified of training availability and the registration process by letter or email from Family Service and Labour’ regional staff. The Community Living disABILITY Services Program booklet, Protecting Vulnerable Person from Abuse and Neglect: Reporting Requirements for Direct Service Providers is provided to registrants at the training.
