The Supervision in Human Service Settings course enables students to develop an awareness of the knowledge and skills necessary to become an effective supervisor/leader. Students will learn: leadership roles and management styles, the importance of team-building, methods of conflict management, strategies for staff appraisal and motivation and ways of resolving performance problems. This is taught in the context of providing supports under The Vulnerable Persons Living with a Mental Disability Act (VPA).
Note: This course may count as a credit towards the Red River College Disability and Community Support Certificate/Diploma.

Family Services and Labour sponsors the tuition for employees of agencies funded by the Community Living disABILITY Services Program. Registration forms must be signed by a supervisor/manager in your agency.
Agencies are advised to contact the Red River College campus or regional centre for their area for details on upcoming courses. Family Services and Labour may also notify agencies of training availability and the registration process.
