Aboriginal Medical Student Financial Assistance Program (AMSFAP)

Manitoba’s medical graduates are
the foundation of the future of
healthcare in this province. The Province
of Manitoba has established the
Aboriginal Medical Student Financial
Assistance Program to augment the
number of Aboriginal students in the
undergraduate medical education
program at the University of Manitoba
and to increase the number of Aboriginal
physicians practicing in the province.
The AMSFAP provides financial assistance in the form of an interest-free conditional grant to aboriginal students studying medicine in the province of Manitoba. Note that if Return of Service is not fulfilled, interest will be charged only from the training end date until the conditional grant is repaid in one lump sum.
