Building Communities Initiative

The Building Communities Initiative (BCI) is a multi-year, cost-shared capital initiative developed jointly by the Province of Manitoba and the City of Winnipeg. The goal of BCI is to improve local community infrastructure that will benefit older neighbourhoods and contribute to the vitality, safety and health of communities throughout the city.

Residential Neighbourhood Beautification Program

• The Residential Neighbourhood Beautification Program is being piloted in the Chalmers neighbourhood. It provides small grants to homeowners and rental property owners to support visible street front exterior improvements to the appearance of housing properties in a designated area of the neighbourhood. The two year pilot project is being delivered by the Winnipeg Housing Rehabilitation Corporation for the Province of Manitoba.
