Neighbourhood Housing Assistance
What is this program about?
Neighbourhood Housing Assistance is a program to help revitalize
housing in designated neighbourhoods that are considered to be
in decline. It supports homeownership and renovation initiatives
by community-based groups. It can provide grants of up to $10,000
per residence for purchase, renovations and sales tax on renovations.
Where
is this program available?
Neighbourhood Housing Assistance applies to urban neighbourhoods
identified by the City of Winnipeg as Major Improvement Areas,
and priority areas identified under the Neighbourhoods Alive!
initiative in Winnipeg, Brandon and Thompson.
Who can apply?
- Community and neighbourhood development
and renewal corporations.
- Non-profit housing corporations and continuing
housing co-operatives.
- Owners of residential rental properties
may be eligible for assistance in support of community supported
projects.
How can one apply?
Applicants will be requested to submit detailed proposals demonstrating
such things as business plans, strategic plans, community support
