Project Summary:

The biannually-held AGRITECHNICA 11 agriculturally-focused trade show is the largest of its kind in the world – i.e., the 7-day ’09 event attracted record attendance of 355,118 (77,000 international from 81 countries) and 2,300 exhibitors from 46 countries. A wide diversity of dry land farming technology is exhibited – tractors, seeding & tillage, fertilizing & spraying, harvesting, grain handling, precision farming, components, spare parts, farm inputs, transportation equipment, etc.

Manitoba Trade, in cooperation with its federal partners and industry sector firms is following-up a similar successful presentation to the ‘Canada Pavilion’ presence at the ’09 event. Approximately 18-20 Manitoba sector firms are anticipated to participate.

This particular export trade initiative should prove beneficial to industry firms interested in diversifying their North American market focus by expanding to selected developing country economies where Manitoba’s diverse agricultural-related manufacturing capabilities are in high demand – i.e. Eastern Europe, the CIS, etc.
