Jagat Shah, MBA, CMC, CEO of Global Network International, has been at the centre of business in India for over two decades, leading over 80 trade delegations from India to more than five continents, hosting 24 trade delegations from abroad for trade & investment matchmaking as well as conducting over 250 international trade seminars across various industries in several countries. Although Jagat Shah is the newly appointed India Rep for Manitoba Trade, he has been instrumental in coordinating a number of trade missions and brokering deals for our Manitoba companies throughout the last five years. He is very familiar with our industry composition and sees the solid potential within our business communities.

India’s growth, even during the 2008-09 world-wide recession, was 6.7% - lower than the 9% or more in the previous three years, but still the envy of the world. In July, the central bank forecast growth for 2009-10 at around 6 percent. FDI inflows from the year 2000 to July 2009 amounted to over US$100 billion, sending a strong international message that India is now considered a safe and secure environment for investment and doing business. Domestic demand is strong and increasing in all sectors – infrastructure, ICT, life sciences, education, energy, environmental industries, agriculture, agri-food, extractive resources, advanced composite materials, transportation and manufacturing.
