Location: Boone, Iowa
Date: August 28-30, 2012
The annually-held Farm Progress Show is the largest agricultural exposition of its kind in the United States. Situated in the upper Midwest U.S., the show attracts a wide range of traffic comprised primarily of farmers, producers, as well as dealers, agents, and distributors sourcing new product lines for U.S. representation. Owned and operated by Rural Press Limited, it has two permanent outdoor venues (Decatur, IL in the odd-numbered years and Boone, IA in the even-numbered years).
The Farm Progress Show hosts agricultural producers from every U.S. state and from more than 52 international countries and, therefore, billed as, "The largest U.S. – based outdoor farm show with more than 500 exhibitors displaying new farm equipment, tractors, combines, and farm implements; seed and crop protection products; and many additional farm supplies and services." Approximately 7-10 Manitoba agricultural equipment manufacturers are expected to participate in this cost-shared “Manitoba – Canada” export trade initiative which will utilize three 40’ x 70’ outdoor lots comprised of equipment displays, as well as a tent for ‘indoor’ static-type displays and a Manitoba info booth.
Following-up similar-sized “Manitoba – Canada* group exhibits successfully organized at each of the past four Farm Progress Show events (i.e. ’08, ’09, ’10 & ’11), this particular export trade initiative is a good ‘fit’ for Manitoba-based sector firms looking to expand their U.S. export marketing efforts further East and South beyond the border states and Northern Plains region to include the key agricultural states of Iowa, Illinois, Indiana, Missouri, and Kentucky.
