  • Canadian Commercial Corporation:
    The Canadian Commercial Corporation (CCC) is an export sales agency, wholly owned by the Government of Canada, which helps Canadian exporters win sales, on improved terms, in government and private-sector markets around the world. CCC's customized export sales and contracting services help exporters, particularly small and medium-sized companies, access opportunities and win business on better terms.
  • Department of Foreign Affairs and International Trade:
    Canada's ability to sell goods and services abroad, attract job-creating investment and develop the best technology is key to sustaining one of the highest standards of living in the world. The Department of Foreign Affairs and International Trade works with Canadian business to do just that. DFAIT is also a founding partner of Team Canada Inc, a network of trade promotion services which assist Canadian businesses to seek out export opportunities and compete in the global marketplace.
  • Info Export:
    Web site of the Canadian Trade Commissioner Service provides free access to hundreds of sectoral market studies and country-specific reports prepared by the DFAIT Market Research Centre and by their offices abroad. These reports are intended to help Canadian companies, identity foreign business opportunities and learn more about your target market.
  • Team Canada Inc.:
    ExportSource is Team Canada Inc's on-line resource for export information. ExportSource provides a single access point to all trade-related government departments and agencies.
  • Trade Port:
    TradePort is designed to be an easy-to-use tool offering one place to go for comprehensive trade information, trade leads, and company databases. It is an international trade/defense conversion initiative of BAYTRADE, managed by the Bay Area Economic Forum, and LA TRADE, managed by the Los Angeles Area Chamber of Commerce.
  • Transportation and Trade Alerts:
    Website is provided by Manitoba Transportation and Government Services, to highlight notices of any policy, international trade, or new trade legislation issues or developments that could affect the operations and activities of Manitoba-based companies at the Canada-U.S. border.

  • Manitoba Business Calendar:
    The Manitoba Business Calendar, administer by Manitoba Trade and Investment, informs business and economic developers of significant events in Manitoba. The calendar is a partnership of public-sector organizations involved in economic development.
  • Winnipeg Chamber of Commerce "Calendar of Events":
    The Winnipeg Chamber of Commerce serves as the "voice of business", ensuring that the business perspective is heard on the issues of the day.

  • Canada/Manitoba Business Service Centre Library and Research:
    The C/MBSC Reference and Trade Library has over 10,000 books, magazines and audio-visuals on Business information. The Collection contains: Information useful for starting or running an existing business; information on exporting and importing including a large section of information on foreign countries and markets; Directories for sourcing products and services; Information on various industries and sectors; Manitoba government documents.
  • Canada/Manitoba Business Service Centre - Oliver's Links:
    Oliver, one of the librarians at the C/MBSC, has collected and organized a few thousand web site links that our staff have found useful for ourselves and our clients over the years. These links have been organized to help you find other relevant sources of information.
  • Canadian Technology Network:
    The Canadian Technology Network can provide access to a wide range of technology and related business assistance through a cross-country network of organizations and advisors. Each advisor is employed by an organization known for its technology or related business competence. These advisors are linked together to optimize the identification and referal to delivery of the right advice or expertise to meet interactive business needs.
  • CIA World Fact Book:
    The World Factbook is prepared by the Central Intelligence Agency for the use of US Government officials, and the style, format, coverage, and content are designed to meet their specific requirements

Market Development

  • Manitoba Agriculture & Food - Market Development and Promotions Branch
    The Market Development and Promotions Branch assists to Identify, develop and strengthen new and/or expanded markets for Manitoba agricultural products provincially and nationally.
  • Agri-Food Trade Service
    The Agri-Food Trade Service web site is Agriculture and Agri-Food Canada's electronic service providing international trade and market information for Canadian agri-food exporters. It is one of the many initiatives of the Agri-Food Trade Service (ATS).

Sector Development

  • Sector Competitiveness Frameworks Series:
    Part of Industry Canada's Strategis web site, Sector Competitiveness Frameworks currently has two series available: The Overview and Prospects documents analyse each sector's current position, identifies criticial issues and, for some sectors, sets the stage for discussions among major industrial stakeholders. The Framework for Action documents contain the recommendations resulting from these discussions.
  • Strategis:
    Strategis is produced by Industry Canada, a department of the Federal government. The department's mission is to work with Canadians to build a growing competitive, knowledge-based economy. Strategis was launched on March 27, 1996 in order to harness the power of the Internet to provide business and consumer information to all Canadians without the constraints of time and geography. Export Development and Financing

  • Asian Development Bank:
    ADB is a multilateral development finance institution dedicated to reducing poverty in Asia and the Pacific. Established in 1966, we are now owned by 59 members, mostly from the region.
  • Business Development Bank of Canada:
    The Business Development Bank of Canada (BDC) is Canada's small business bank. BDC plays a leadership role in delivering timely and relevant financial and management services, with a particular focus on the emerging and exporting sectors of the economy.
  • Export Development Canada:
    EDC is a Canadian financial institution devoted exclusively to providing trade finance services to support Canadian exporters and investors in some 200 markets, 130 of which are in developing markets.

  • Western Economic Diversification Canada:
    WD's mandate has been to promote the development and diversification of the economy of Western Canada and to advance the interests of the West in national economic policy. WD is involved in several new innovative partnerships with both the public and private sectors to address the information and financing needs of small and medium-size businesses in Western Canada.
