A private, non-profit corporation established and supported by the governments of Canada and Manitoba. Its mandate is to champion innovation enabling societies to live sustainable. The IISD contributes new knowledge and concepts, analyses policy, identifies and disseminates sustainable development information and demonstrates how to measure progress. Its scope is international, in recognition of the fact that local, national and global development issues are interconnected and have an impact upon one another
