Manitoba's Commitments


The Government of Manitoba is committed to taking bold action to fight the climate crisis and is focused on delivering on the following:

  • Making commitments to meet net-zero targets by 2050
  • Growing Manitoba’s clean energy economy while saving families money
  • Developing a real critical minerals strategy that creates good jobs and economic growth in northern Manitoba with Indigenous inclusion
  • Working with Indigenous communities on the goal of protecting 30 per cent of Manitoba’s diverse landscapes by 2030
  • Delivering Electric Vehicle purchase incentive
  • Implementing an Affordable Home Energy Program to help families make the switch to geothermal home heating
  • Working with the Federal government to ensure strong AgriRecovery and AgriStablity supports to help producers make ends meet while they navigate the impacts of climate change
  • Supporting innovation and research in the agricultural sector including opportunities to expand regenerative agriculture
  • Creating new jobs in electric transit manufacturing
  • Investing in snow clearing, gravel roads, ditches, bridges and culverts to keep families safe, protect communities from flooding and create good Manitoba jobs
