Endowment Fund Background:
In 2021, the Manitoba government set up a $20 million endowment fund with the Winnipeg Foundation. The fund generates yearly interest that underwrites the cost of annual grant projects.
The EIA program launched its first expression of interest in September 2022. Grants from the fund help Manitoba organizations to increase community involvement, to work with EIA participants to reach key milestones on their paths to independence and to support people in finding jobs.
Since 2022, the government has invested nearly $2.6 million to help Manitobans reach independence.
