Four public offerings are scheduled each calendar year in February, May, August, and November. These sales give companies the opportunity to acquire lease rights on crown land to explore and develop petroleum resources.
Posting Requests
Posting requests are submitted via email to petroleumlandtenure@gov.mb.ca and must clearly identify the specific Crown land the company wishes to have posted for lease. Each request is reviewed by relevant government departments, which may approve, deny, or apply conditions to the proposed lease. To be considered, requests must clearly state the form of disposition being requested and be received by the applicable closing date listed below.
Sale Notices
Sale Notices outlining the available parcels, sale procedures, and any applicable special terms and conditions will be made available at least five weeks prior to each sale date.These notices will be:
- Emailed to all parties on the Petroleum Branch’s mailing list; and
- Posted on the Department’s website at www.gov.mb.ca/iem/petroleum
Requests must be submitted via email to petroleumlandtenure@gov.mb.ca by the scheduled closing date listed below. Requests must clearly identify the specific Crown land the company wishes to have posted for lease and must clearly state the form of disposition being requested. Closing Date for Posting: All requests for land to be posted for lease in the next sale must be submitted by the respective closing date.
Sale Date: Results of the sale will be emailed to parties on the Petroleum Branch's mailing list and on the Land Sale Results page
