Meet Alex
Alex worked as an assembler at a manufacturing plant for several years. After trade tariffs were announced, the company saw a decline in profits and had to lay Alex off.
Alex learned about the Canada-Manitoba Workforce Tariff Response Program and met with a career development consultant at a local Manitoba Jobs and Skills Development Centre to discuss their options.
Alex received advice about in-demand careers and financial support to enroll in a training program to be an automotive service technician. Alex is now working full-time in a new skilled trades career.
