Responding to the postal disruption
The Manitoba government is taking steps to protect and ensure the availability of cheques, etc., critical mail during the disruption of postal services. Critical mail will be directed to distribution centres that will be operational on October 3 to serve Manitoba residents.
Critical mail includes cheques, court orders, educational materials, medical supplies and resources required to maintain health care services, and other prioritized items.
If you currently receive your payments or benefits by direct deposit, you will not be affected by the postal disruption.
Manitobans can pick up their critical mail at various locations across the province. Please review the listings below to find the right location. Manitobans can also drop off mail for the provincial government at any location. Letters must be addressed to a specific department including the room number, street address and city or town. If you are unsure which location serves your community, please refer to this listing.
All offices are open Monday to Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. unless otherwise indicated. If you are not sure which location has your cheque or other critical mail, or have other questions please call Manitoba Government Inquiry at 1-866-626-4862 (toll-free) or 204-945-3744, or www.gov.mb.ca/contact/index.html.
