William H. Cockburn

William Hastings Cockburn (1902-1975) was active in the Tammany Tigers rugby, baseball, hockey, and lacrosse teams. But his greatest sporting achievement came as the captain and goal keeper of the Winnipeg Senior Hockey Club that won the Allan Cup in 1931 and the gold medal at the 1932 Winter Olympics at Lake Placid, New York. Fortunately for us, William celebrated this memorable event by keeping photographs and a scrapbook of this exciting time in his life.

Cheer on the Winnipeg Senior Hockey Club through William Cockburn’s eyes as they bring the Olympic Gold home to Manitoba.
