Alberta Centennial Scholarship

for distribution to Manitoba apprentices

Deadline: November 6, 2009

In November 2005, the Province of Alberta announced the creation of the Alberta Centennial Scholarship to celebrate its centennial and its pride in Canada. Every year, twenty-five scholarships of $2005.00 will be allocated to each province and territory to encourage students to pursue post-secondary education anywhere in Canada. In Manitoba, the Department of Entrepreneurship, Training and Trade will award the twenty-five scholarships directly to registered apprentices who meet the conditions of eligibility.

Highest Achievement Awards & Reception


Each spring, the Apprenticeship Branch and the Apprenticeship and Trades Qualifications Board honour the highest achieving apprentice graduates in each designated trade. This prestigious event also recognizes the highest achieving trades qualifier and the significant contributions that employers make to the success of the newly certified graduates.

Apprenticeship Awards of Distinction

The “Apprenticeship Awards of Distinction” gala dinner recognizes the outstanding contributions that employers, journeypersons and instructors make to the Manitoba Apprenticeship training system, and it also honours the valued support and commitment of members from the Apprenticeship Provincial Trade Advisory Committees and the Apprenticeship and Trades Qualifications Board.

Automotive Industry Scholarship

Deadline: Last Friday in May Annually

The Red River Exhibition Foundation Inc. awards this annual scholarship to assist individuals who are pursing their Red Seal Certification as an Automotive Service , Collision Repair or Collision Refinishing Technician. Scholarships may be awarded to students at the secondary and post-secondary levels.

Manitoba Trucking Association Apprenticeship Awards

Associated Trades Division Apprenticeship Award
$1,000 scholarship will be presented to the MTA member company employee who achieves the highest marks on his level 2 examinations in the Manitoba Transport Truck and Trailer Mechanic Apprenticeship program.
Vehicle Maintenance Council Apprenticeship Award
$500.00 cash award along with $500.00 in tools will be presented to the MTA member company employee who achieves the highest marks on his level 1 examinations in the Manitoba Transport Truck and Transport Trailer Mechanic Apprenticeship program.

The Holmes Foundation Scholarships & Bursaries

The Holmes' Foundation Make it Right Scholarships and Bursaries are designed to encourage apprentices to learn to Make it Right. Employers are also being supported in hiring and training apprentices through the Make it Right Employer Incentives.
