Manitoba's Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorder (FASD) Strategy

Manitoba’s FASD Strategy began in 2007. The strategy makes sure government and community partners are working together to support people impacted by FASD and alcohol use in pregnancy.

Renewed FASD Strategy - 2024-2029

Manitoba’s renewed FASD strategy builds on what is working well to improve support for people with FASD, their caregivers and families, and people who use alcohol during pregnancy. The strategy will:

  • Centre the voices of people with lived and living experience
  • Advance reconciliation and increase Indigenous-led service provision
  • Ensure service quality
  • Reduce stigma and promote dignity

By investing in community awareness, wrap-around support for pregnant people and families, and support for people with FASD throughout their lives, the health and well-being of people impacted by FASD can improve.

FASD Strategy Results Map

In 2026, community and government partners created a results map for Manitoba’s renewed FASD Strategy. The results map shows how we can work together to meet the ultimate goal of the strategy. The ultimate goal is for people impacted by FASD to be healthier and better supported to live the lives they want.
