Licence Suspension Appeal Board
You can apply for an appeal to the Licence Suspension Appeal Board (LSAB) to determine if you qualify for a conditional driver’s licence.
You can apply for an appeal to the Licence Suspension Appeal Board (LSAB) for a conditional drivers licence if your driver’s licence has been suspended by the Registrar of Motor Vehicles or the Courts.
The Board may grant conditional driving privileges if the following criteria has been met:
- Exceptional hardship will result if the suspension remains in effect, AND
- The granting of a conditional licence is not contrary to the public interest.

Permit Appeals
The Licence Suspension Appeal Board (LSAB) hears appeals from individuals where the Registrar of Motor Vehicles has refused to issue or renew a permit, suspend a permit, or cancel a permit under The Driver’s Vehicle Act. Please note, the Licence Suspension Appeal Board (LSAB) does not have jurisdiction to hear an appeal if an individual has been issued a provisional suspension or has been refused to renew imposed under 100(2) of The Driver’s Vehicle Act.
Commercial Operator Appeals
The Licence Suspension Appeal Board (LSAB) hears appeals from individuals who have had their Safety Fitness Certificate revoked by the Director of Motor Carrier Enforcement Branch.
