Manitoba’s Classes of Power Engineer Certificates
The following certificate classes are available under the Power Engineers Regulation:
- First Class
- Second Class
- Third Class
- Fourth Class
- Fifth Class
- Refrigeration Class
- Special Boiler Class
- Steam Traction Engine Class
- Ice Facility Operator Class
Note: The Ice Facility Operator Class Certificate is a new addition and is designed specifically for shift engineers in refrigeration facilities where ice is produced and maintained for recreational purposes. Refer to ITS 25-001 - Bulletin Amendments to the Power Engineers Regulation for more information.
For each certificate class, the Power Engineers Regulation specifies what duties the certificate holder can perform, the requirements for supervision, and defines the various classes of plants.
