Fire Restrictions and Closures: Check for updated wildfire related travel restrictions and closures.

 

Advisories & Closures:

PROVINCIAL PARKS CLOSED DUE TO WILDFIRE: South Atikaki, Wallace Lake. Partial closures in Bakers Narrows, Whiteshell, and Nopiming

Travel permits will still be required for travel within an active fire boundary. To apply for a travel permit, contact a Natural Resources and Indigenous Futures district office and visit: https://www.gov.mb.ca/nrnd/co/index.html to find a location.

Manigotagan River Provincial Park

  • Effective at 8 a.m. on Friday, June 27 reopening to cottagers, permanent residents and commercial operators.

Nopiming Provincial Park

  • At 8 a.m. on Friday, June 27, a portion in the northwest corner of Nopiming Provincial Park including Quesnel Lake will re-open to day-users, cottagers, and commercial operators.
  • Campgrounds at Black Lake and Beresford Lake will remain closed for the remainder of the season, along with Shoe Lake backcountry sites and all water routes in the park. Anyone who was planning backcountry trips in Nopiming this summer should make alternate plans.
  • Tulabi Falls Walk-in Backcountry Campsites: trail and campsites are closed due to trail washouts. Trail is being assessed for repairs.

Whiteshell Provincial Park

  • The Whiteshell River Water Route, from the second tunnel at North Cross Lake through to Little Whiteshell Lake is now open, including access through both tunnels. Backcountry camping is available along the Whiteshell River Water Route.
  • The Mantario Wilderness Zone remains closed. The portage on Sailing Lake into Granite Lake and portage at the north end of Marion Lake is closed in Whiteshell Provincial Park. The Mantario Hiking Trail is closed and is expected to remain closed for an extended period. Anyone who was planning to hike the trail this summer should make alternate plans.

Hecla/Grindstone Provincial Park

  • Black Wolf Trail: South loop closed due to shoreline erosion. Main trail remains open.

Spruce Woods Provincial Park

  • Spring Ridge Self-guiding Trail has a closed bridge halfway around the trail due to bank erosion. Trail remains open for in-and-out access only; do not attempt to cross the bridge. Bridge is being assessed for repairs.
