About Us
The mission of the Public Trustee is to protect the interests of Manitobans by providing professional and cost-effective trustee services of last resort that meet the needs of our clients.
The Public Trustee is a Special Operating Agency of the provincial government. This means the agency meets its operating and salary expenses through the fees it charges.
The Public Trustee is accountable to the Manitoba Justice minister and the provincial Treasury Board for operations and financial performance. The Public Trustee Act states the Provincial Auditor must audit the agency's accounts and books. It also states The Public Trustee must file an annual report.
