Rental Housing Eligibility and
Program Income Limits for Private Non-profit Tenants - as of January 1, 2024

To be eligible for the rental housing programs applicants must:

  • complete a program application
  • have a total adjusted household income at or below the rental Program Income Limits (PILs)
  • be in core housing need (SHRP)
  • be a Canadian Citizen, permanent resident of Canada or refugee claimant
  • provide a rental history
  • pay outstanding debt owed to the program or sign an approved payment plan

International students and Permanent Residents – Family Class are not eligible.

Affordable Housing Rental Program

This program is for lower-moderate income households whose total household income is below the posted 2024 program income limits. The household will pay an affordable rent based on median rents in the private market.

The program income limits and rents for the Affordable Housing Rental Program are posted below and remain in effect through 2024:
