Trade Agreements and Negotiations

The Trade Agreements and Negotiations division is responsible for articulating and furthering Manitoba's interests in domestic and international trade negotiations and agreements.

The division:

  • Represents Manitoba at domestic and international trade negotiations

  • Develops provincial policy for the negotiation and implementation of interprovincial and international trade agreements

  • Ensures Manitoba's priorities and concerns are reflected in trade negotiations through consultations with key stakeholders

  • Works with occupational regulatory authorities and departments to ensure Manitoba's labour mobility obligations are met

  • Provides updates on the status of agreements and negotiations to government, industry and civil society stakeholders

  • Works with stakeholders and front line departments to defend Manitoba exporters and Manitoba programs in domestic and international trade disputes
