Section C: Ships' Records Finding Aid

This online finding aid has been set up to assist researchers find records classified under Section C (Ships' Records). This section contains records for 72 HBC ships. However, it should be noted that not all ships' records are located in Section C. Please contact us for other references.

The records themselves are not available on this website; to access them you will have to order microfilm via the Microfilm Loan Program, read published collections of records, or visit the HBCA.

What follows here is a reference tool that will allow you to find:

• what ships' records are kept at the HBCA, and for which years, with descriptions of the types of ships' records available; and
• how to access them -- location codes and microfilm numbers

Records are listed by type and volume number, referenced against the microfilm reels on which they are available (if they have been microfilmed).
