Crane and Boom Truck Operator Trades

There are three trades related to the operation of crane and boom trucks:

  • Boom Trust Hoist Operator
  • Mobile Crane Operator
  • Tower Crane Operator

Operators use mobile cranes, boom trucks and tower cranes to lift, move, position, unload and reload machinery, equipment, and other large objects at construction sites, on offshore oil rigs, in rail yards, docks and plants. This does not apply to equipment used exclusively for fire fighting.

Certifications:

  • Boom Truck Hoist Operator: Provincial
  • Mobile Crane Operator: Interprovincial - Red Seal
  • Tower Crane Operator: Interprovincial - Red Seal
