The Waste Reduction and Recycling Support (WRARS) program supports sustainable waste management efforts and prevention practices in Manitoba. In 2021/2022, the WRARS program provided $8.7 Million to municipalities and organizations.

Environment and Climate Change is currently reviewing the program to modernize programming and set stronger targets for waste diversion and prevention practices in Manitoba.  Environment and Climate Change will be seeking input from stakeholders during the review and modernization process.
