Whiteshell Provincial Park – Mantario Hiking Trail

  • Please be advised staff will be working on the Mantario Hiking Trail for several weeks commencing Monday, September 16, 2019.  Crews will be working to clear and brush overgrown areas along the trail, install additional trail markers, and repairing/replacing furniture at campsites such as tables and fire pits.  Hikers are asked to use caution when approaching and passing work crews.  Should you have any further inquiries please contact Kurtis Cline at or 204-345-1434.
  • Please take caution on Big Whiteshell Lake area roadways as increased volumes of construction truck traffic will begin starting August 13, 2019 and continue up to October 31, 2019. Truck traffic will be concentrated on roadways between Meditation Lake and Big Whiteshell Lake. Access to the North Trailhead will remain open during construction, please follow signs and use caution when travelling in the area. See notice and map (PDF).

Birds Hill Provincial Park - Cedar Bog Self-guiding Trail - PARTIAL CLOSURE
Back loop through the cedar bog area closed due to wet conditions and trail deterioration.

Turtle Mountain Provincial Park – John Lake Trail Re-route
The John Lake Trail (part of the Adam Lake Trail Network) has been re-routed away form the Canada-USA border.  The old route is closed and no longer a designated route. See map. John Lake Trail, along with the Dunseith Trail south of Adam Shelter and Vista Trail are packed this winter for skate-skiing and fat biking.  All other trails in the Adam Lake network remain tracked for classic skiing only. 

William Lake Provincial Park - Turtle's Back Hiking Trail
The top level of the observation tower at the Turtles Back Summit is closed for repairs. The lower level of the tower remain open.
